Committee updates checking account signatories, reviews CD and account balances

Committee members voted to update the foundation checking‑account signatories and reviewed account balances and a matured certificate of deposit.

A motion was made and seconded to update the checking account signatories, removing Jessica Hightower and adding Jesse Ware. The committee recorded the motion and signatory change and directed members identified as signers to complete bank paperwork. Committee discussion noted that the three people expected to sign on the account would be the secretary/treasurer, the president and the director; members agreed the signatures could be added at the local bank or other designated location.

A committee member reported the current checking account balance as $4,404.17 (most recent statement). The group also reviewed a certificate of deposit that matured; members said its balance as of the last statement was $5,301.95, with $118 of interest earned. Committee members discussed seeking the best available renewal rate and indicated they would consider a six‑ or 12‑month term depending on prevailing rates and simplicity of paperwork.

Members directed staff to update the secretary of state records to reflect board changes when the board membership is stable and to coordinate with a bank representative to complete the signatory updates. No additional spending or contract commitments were made at the meeting.
