Chris (county staff) presented comparative quotes and recommended the Kyocera, saying it offered faster printing, higher-yield toner and more reliable support than the replacement Toshiba model. “My recommendation, strong recommendation is the Kyocera with modern copy,” Chris said. Staff noted the Kyocera model is already used in other county offices and supports Chromebook printing, which the current copier struggled to do.
Commissioners voted to purchase the Kyocera unit with a government discount; the vendor will take the old machine as trade-in or remove it. Staff said delivery would likely take about two weeks and follow-up would be scheduled after the contracts are finalized.
The motion to purchase was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote.
