East Grand Forks City Council approves series of resolutions, contract awards and bylaws change

East Grand Forks City Council members voted Feb. 4 to approve a package of routine minutes, resolutions and contracts, including a bylaws change for the Parks and Recreation Commission, authorization to submit a federal BUILD grant application for the East Grand Forks–Grand Forks Bridal Crossing project and a $103,952.92 sewer-cleaning contract.

The votes covered a mix of administrative and capital items the council said were standard business for the new year. City staff told council members the BUILD application had already been submitted under the program’s new name and the resolution would formalize the council’s endorsement.

The council approved minutes from the Jan. 21 council meeting and the Jan. 28 work session. Council members also adopted the consent agenda (items 3 and 4) by a single motion. The Parks and Recreation Commission bylaws were amended to change regular meetings from monthly to quarterly. The council approved a resolution supporting the 2025 BUILD grant application for planning activities for the East Grand Forks–Grand Forks Bridal Crossing Project and authorized the city administrator to submit the application. Staff stated they expect to hear results of the grant application by June.
