Staff reported the city recently paid commercial energy rebates for several local projects and previewed upcoming rebate applications tied to local businesses and city facilities.
Over the past three weeks staff said the city paid a lighting rebate to the Blue Moose for about 130 LED recessed fixtures in bathrooms and main dining areas; a rebate for canopy lighting at Northville Oil's diesel island; and a weatherization rebate for Valley Golf Course following window replacement. Staff also said it received an exterior-lighting form from Jetway and that a representative of the East Grand Inn is working on a weatherization application for insulation and window work.
Two city projects—Campbell Library and the parks-department maintenance shop—are expected to receive rebates through contractor Eagle Electrics in coming weeks. Staff also noted work with American Crystal Sugar: the company canceled a previously planned project but has covered pile coverings and chillers and reduced fan load, so staff expects its near-term load changes to be modest.
Staff did not request formal action; the report was informational and related to routine rebate processing and coordination with contractors.
