District staff reviewed several administrative policy items Feb. 12, including an updated nondiscrimination policy, a rollback of federal Title IX procedures to the 2020 rules, a proposal to permit electronic signatures on board documents and a draft resolution concerning the public records index requirement.
Roberta told the board the updated Policy 32.10 (nondiscrimination) contains clearer language about discriminatory harassment and hostile‑environment indicators and that the district already meets or exceeds the training and response steps described. The board also heard that Policy 32.05 would revert to the prior, 2020 Title IX rules pending federal and state guidance.
On electronic signatures, staff proposed adopting an e‑signature process for board minutes and documents using a Board on Track workflow as the district migrates away from the previous EduPortal system. The administration said state guidance and WASDA policy allow electronic signatures for board documents; staff said use would reduce paper storage needs and speed public‑records access.
Finally, staff presented a draft resolution addressing the Public Records Act indexing requirement and noted the resolution is routine and intended to reflect existing practice when an index would be unduly burdensome to maintain.
These items were informational and will return to the board for formal action at a later date if needed.
