Board adopts 'Parents' Rights in Education' proclamation after restoring language and signatures

A member of the public, Becky Lemler, who identified herself as a member of a parents’ rights organization, had urged the board to restore previous language and questioned edits that had been made to the draft proclamation. During the meeting a board member moved to approve the resolution "with a change to include the therefore and declared January parents rights and education month," and another board member seconded the motion. The board later agreed to include signatures from board members in addition to the superintendent.
The motion passed unanimously with no recorded dissent.
