West Allis honors City Administrator Rebecca N. Grill as she departs for Oshkosh

The West Allis Common Council on Feb. 11 adopted a resolution honoring City Administrator Rebecca N. Grill for more than a decade of service to the city after she accepted a city-manager position in Oshkosh.
Mayor Mary Devine presented a prepared resolution and praised Grill’s leadership, saying the administrator “demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and professionalism in overseeing the city's operations and strategic initiatives.” The mayor recalled the hiring process and several milestones during Grill’s tenure.
At the council meeting the mayor read the resolution text that recognized Grill’s work on budgets, capital improvements and staff continuity. The council then voted unanimously to adopt the resolution and present an engraved copy to Grill.
Grill addressed the council, thanking colleagues and staff and describing her time in West Allis as “an incredible experience.” “Serving as a city administrator and city clerk has been an incredible experience and I'm truly blessed to have had the opportunity to work with a dedicated team,” she said. She also thanked the mayor, council and staff for their support and said she looked forward to seeing the city’s future progress.
Council members spoke in tribute, noting her steady leadership during the pandemic and through budget cycles, and said they wished her well in Oshkosh. The council then voted on consent and other business as scheduled.
The resolution and the council’s remarks formalize the city’s gratitude as Grill prepares to begin her new position.
