Franklin County commissioners heard an annual operations update Monday night from Mike McCall, HAPO Center manager, who said the HAPO Center is seeing increased bookings, completed capital repairs and stepped-up marketing that together are improving the facility's financial outlook.
McCall told the board the center hosted large events late in 2024 — including a 1,350-person corporate Christmas dinner and a multi‑day father‑daughter dance that drew more than 6,000 attendees across the weekend — and that early‑2025 bookings now include about 20 events, eight of them new to the center. "This is an annual report as a business would look at it of 60 pages of numbers," McCall said, adding the presentation was meant to show how the center is performing "physically at the center itself, culturally" and in customer feedback.
