Board approves AV, architecture and construction contracts for district bond projects

• Architectural services for Fern Hill Elementary: The board approved architectural services for a planned four-classroom addition (one 3K classroom and three standard classrooms) at Fern Hill Elementary. The board approved the contract/authorization for architectural work at $921,685; construction is planned to start this summer, according to staff presentation.
• Echo Shaw Elementary construction contract: The board awarded the Echo Shaw Elementary renovation and seismic work to Inline Commercial Construction, the low bidder, for $2,477,151. Scope includes seismic upgrades, siding and window replacement and interior deferred maintenance.
Each motion passed on voice vote with motions moved and seconded during the meeting; the transcript records “All in favor? Aye.” The board’s packets included RFP and bid results; staff said contractors were prequalified and that in-line contractors have prior experience in nearby districts.
The contracts are part of the district’s multi-school bond project to replace equipment and perform deferred maintenance districtwide.
