Carmen (Director of Administration) and staff said the work will improve the town's records and that state guidance may require updates to infrastructure ratings about every four years.
Council discussed the need for investing in field GPS equipment and software subscriptions for ongoing mapping accuracy. A motion to approve the change order carried on a roll-call vote reported as 5-0. Council members expressed concern about recurring price increases from engineering firms but supported the mapping for serviceability and quicker response to sewer problems.
