Brentwood Conservation Commission approves amended January minutes, reimburses grounds volunteer and votes to enter nonpublic session

The Brentwood Town Conservation Commission approved amended public minutes for January, voted to reimburse a volunteer $52.97 for fuel used mowing Stevens Field and unanimously voted to enter a nonpublic session to review draft nonpublic minutes and discuss a set of properties.

The approval of the January public minutes came after members raised minor corrections, including attendance and spelling of a member's name; the commission voted to approve the minutes as amended. The commission also approved a motion to reimburse Bob Magnuson $52.97 for fuel used while mowing Stevens Field over the summer; the commission chair said she would submit the reimbursement to the town administrator the following day.

Before moving items into nonpublic session the commission discussed procedure for sealing and approving nonpublic minutes. Commissioners agreed to review the draft nonpublic minutes during the closed session and then approve and seal them afterward. The meeting concluded its public portion by voting to enter nonpublic session to address the January nonpublic minutes and two property matters; the roll call vote was recorded as unanimous.

Members present recorded several procedural clarifications during the meeting: alternates will be included in nonpublic discussions when appropriate; invitees (including members of the open space committee and people integral to open-space discussions) may be listed in the minutes as attending nonpublic sessions; and the commission plans to confirm the select board's appointment procedures for filling a departing member's seat.

The commission scheduled its next regular meeting for March 12 and indicated it would handle approval and sealing of the January nonpublic minutes after the closed-session review.
