Monroeville mayor spotlights convention center purchase, capital improvements and Mall redevelopment in annual address

MONROEVILLE, Pa. — The mayor delivered the annual State of the Municipality during the Monroeville council meeting on Feb. 11, 2025, saying the FY2025 budget approved by council preserves core services while prioritizing a new capital improvements program and noting the municipality purchased the Monroeville Convention Center and has arranged a lease with Visit Monroeville to operate it.

The address laid out why the capital program matters: the mayor said municipal facilities — the municipal building, public works building, library, senior center, parks, playgrounds and courts — are aging and need an organized, funded plan rather than ad‑hoc repairs. “Updating these existing facilities is essential to continue to deliver the great services Monroeville offers,” the mayor said in the speech recorded on the council dais.
