District announces Franklin Elementary principal change; special-education director interviews pending

Superintendent Wendy Dow announced administrative staffing changes during the Provo City School Board meeting on Feb. 11, naming Brida Ann Dalby as the incoming principal at Franklin Elementary.
As announced, Brida Ann Dalby, currently principal at Centennial Middle School, will transfer to Franklin Elementary. Lance Vandermark will remain at Franklin as an assistant principal. The superintendent also said Jeanette Marrera will join Franklin as an additional assistant principal and Emily Ensign will move to Franklin Elementary as an administrative assistant.
Dow said the district has not finalized other administrative moves because interviews for an open special-education director position were scheduled for the following day; she said additional staffing changes could follow depending on that hire. “There could be some additional changes that happen, and we will keep you apprised of those as they come up,” Dow said.
The personnel announcements followed the board’s approval of the calendar and consent items and preceded the meeting’s concluding reports. The superintendent indicated the district had communicated some of these changes to families and staff in advance and that further changes would be announced after interviews and internal staffing decisions are finalized.
Board members did not vote on the announced transfers during the meeting; the announcements were presented as administrative staffing updates.
