The calendar motion was seconded by board member Melanie Hall. After discussion, the board took a voice vote; the motion passed unanimously. Later in the meeting, board member Hall moved to approve the consent calendar; the motion was seconded and approved by unanimous voice vote.
The calendar change follows a staff study-session review of several options, including alternate Thanksgiving and fall-break configurations and shifting the school year start date. The approved calendar explicitly adds teacher compensation days in August and March and five kindergarten testing days, as the board’s motion stated.
