The Terrell City Council on Feb. 11 voted to adopt Resolution No. 2209 to call a general election to be administered by the Kaufman County Elections Administrator on Saturday, May 3, 2025, for the purpose of electing a mayor to a three‑year term.
City Secretary Don Stahl summarized the resolution and said Kaufman County will supply early‑voting dates and locations when finalized; the staff also noted the filing deadline for candidates (Feb. 14, as cited in staff remarks). The council adopted the resolution by motion (moved by Mayor Ronnie Velasquez; second by Mayor Pro Tem Stephanie Holmes Thomas) and the motion carried unanimously by those present.
Staff said they will attach the county’s early‑voting schedule to the election materials when the county finalizes dates and locations.
