Easley described a graph the district showed him: test scores from August (pre-implementation) compared with later results showed increases across grade levels in English and mathematics — he cited cases of 30% to 60% growth in some classes as presented by the district. Easley said the improvement affected all students at the school, not only Cherokee students, and called the results an example of tribal sovereignty in action.
Councilors applauded the local impact; no formal action or detailed financial figures were provided in the meeting transcript. Easley asked the council to note the outcome as an example of Cherokee Nation support to small districts in the Nation’s jurisdiction.
