Commerce official: SSBCI program operating; openings for adjacent states in March and national access in July

Ann Knott, representing the Cherokee Nation Commerce Department, told the Tribal Council that the tribe's SSBCI (State Small Business Credit Initiative) program is operating and attracting interest. "The SSBCI program is in operation and it's, it's operating. We're getting a lot of interest in it. And in March, we'll open up to the states that are contiguous to Oklahoma and then in July to the rest of the nation," Knott said.
Knott offered to take questions and provided a written report to the council. No questions were raised during the meeting; the council moved on to consent items and old-business updates after the Commerce Department report.
