The committee selected a Heather Navy shirt for Centennnial merchandise after reviewing proofs and sponsor placement.
Why it matters: T-shirt sales and the commemorative shirt design are a visible part of the Centennial branding and provide earned revenue and a physical keepsake for residents. The shirt will also be used in displays and the time capsule.
Members reviewed a vendor mockup that included sponsor logos, committee names and an events list. Members asked staff to reduce font sizes for sponsor recognition to preserve space for event dates; staff was asked to “box” the event list to make it visually readable and to keep sponsor placement on the back of the shirt. After discussion a member moved that the committee approve the heather navy option for the shirt and to proceed with a proof that compresses sponsor text and summarizes the events list; the motion carried with one member voting nay. Staff will circulate a final proof for sign-off and will order an initial run (the vendor offered an in-kind estimate for a first 500 shirts; staff will confirm exact order counts after pre-sales). Members also asked staff to track in-kind sponsorships separately from cash sponsorships and not to count in-kind as spendable cash in budget totals.
Ending: Staff to request a final pre-production proof from the vendor using the Heather Navy color, reduced sponsor text and an outlined event list. Staff will return the final proof and proposed size distribution to the committee for approval prior to printing.
