Finance committee liaison endorses school building committee’s AR4A recommendation

The School Building Committee recommended the AR4A plan for Millis schools and will submit the recommendation to the state for reimbursement, Finance Committee liaison Michael Crum told the panel.
Crum said he attended the School Building Committee meetings and the presentation to the select board and school committee. He described the committee’s work as "extremely comprehensive" and said the consultants showed strong expertise. "I thought that the plan made a lot of sense," Crum said, adding that the committee had considered numerous options before narrowing to a single recommendation.
Crum urged residents who have not followed the process to view the recorded meetings and supporting materials. He said the next step is submission to the state building fund (reimbursement process) and that he will continue as liaison as the project moves forward through approvals and potential funding requests.
Committee members acknowledged that the project will involve town expenditures and recommended that residents review the evidence and the committee’s materials before forming judgments. Crum said he would bring more information to the Finance Committee as the schedule for reimbursement and town meetings becomes clearer.
