The North Clackamas School District Board of Directors approved three formal items during its Jan. 16 meeting. All three votes were unanimous, 6–0.
Minutes: Chair Wey called for approval of the Dec. 12, 2024 board minutes. Director Bauer moved to approve and Director Dobson seconded. The board voted 6–0 to approve the minutes.
Consent agenda: The board approved a consent agenda that included employment changes; a middle‑school schedule adjustment to meet Division 22 requirements for physical-education minutes; policy revisions; and four travel requests (Milwaukee High School baseball; Adrian C. Nelson High School band and orchestra; Rex Putnam High School acapella and Vocal Point; and Clackamas High School girls softball). Vice Chair Gina Benaloga moved approval; Director Bauer seconded. The motion passed 6–0.
Black/African American History Month proclamation: The board adopted a proclamation declaring February 2025 Black/African American History Month in the district. Director McVay moved the proclamation and Director Bauer seconded; the motion passed 6–0. The proclamation text was read into the record and included the national 2025 theme "African Americans and labor." The district will encourage residents to observe the month.
No public comment was registered for the public‑comment period at the start of the meeting.
The board held several other informational items on Thursday (ESD local service plan presentation, charter renewal presentations and the district financial audit) that were discussion items and will return to the board for action as required.
