On the APS caseload, staff reported 31 cases of suspected financial exploitation representing more than $2.1 million in losses to older residents. The department said it is also assisting the LCO elder center during its staffing transition and will continue outreach to clinical partners to ease transitions from mental‑health services to long‑term care when appropriate. The county did not provide case‑level details during the public report.
Committee members asked clarifying questions about the county’s interim support to the LCO elder center; staff said the county is providing APS coverage while the center fills vacancies. No formal committee votes were taken on APS matters during the meeting.
