The Gadsden Independent Schools Board of Education recognized a cohort of teachers who completed Level 1, Course 1 of the High Reliability Teacher (HRT) certification program.
Superintendent Dempsey introduced the item and turned the presentation to Ms. Hernandez and Ms. Lugo, who described the HRT program and said it includes online coursework, lesson recordings, self‑assessments, goal setting and student feedback. Ms. Lugo said the certification aligns with district priorities including effective teaching and a guaranteed, viable curriculum.
Ms. Lugo read testimonials from participating teachers stating the HRT process improved instruction and professional confidence. The board called up and congratulated teachers from multiple district campuses, including Chaparral High School, Santa Teresa Elementary, Gadsden High School and others; names were read during recognition.
Board members praised participants’ work and encouraged colleagues to consider the program for professional growth. The district said it is piloting the High Reliability School model at Santa Teresa Elementary and noted many Level 1 participants come from that campus.
