Roosevelt City Planning staff announced a regional planning and zoning training opportunity and said the commission will seek council ratification to reappoint several members whose terms have expired or are expiring.
Drew (staff member) said the annual regional training will be March 26 in Vernal at 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; staff will provide a flyer to commissioners. He said the event satisfies required training hours for planning bodies and recommended commissioners attend.
Drew also said two planning commission members whose terms expired last year need to be sworn in for the remainder of their three-year terms; he added that three members have terms expiring March 1 and are eligible to serve another term. He said staff will place the reappointments on the City Council agenda for ratification and that the swearing-in could occur at the March 5 meeting.
The announcements were informational; no formal votes were recorded on training attendance or the reappointments during the meeting. Staff asked commissioners to indicate whether they are willing to serve another term so staff can move the matter forward to City Council.
