"House Bill 1361 relates to updating process service requirements for business entities and motorists," John Brzezinski, staff to the committee, told members during the hearing.
Vice Chair Parvour moved that the bill be reported out of committee with a due-pass recommendation. Representative Abel and other members supported the measure during brief discussion, with Representative Abel saying his private-practice experience suggested the bill would simplify a currently "difficult and convoluted" process for practitioners and the public.
The committee conducted an oral vote. Staff announced 13 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 excused or absent votes; House Bill 1361 was reported out of committee with a due-pass recommendation.
