Earlier in the meeting the board approved the meeting agenda (motion by Supervisor Swaggle, seconded by Supervisor Patricia) and the previous meeting minutes (motion by Supervisor Poppe, seconded by Supervisor Shelton); both votes were recorded as 18 yes, none opposed.
County Administrator Jeremy Kroll thanked the highway department for prolonged storm response and raised awareness of the upcoming Door Kewaunee Legislative Days on March 19 (an overnight event) that brings local issues such as tourism, water use and school trade programs to the attention of the legislative delegation in Madison; Kroll said students often play a central role in the event.
On committee reports, Supervisor Baker asked about a planned highway shop upgrade. Staff said the project is early in design: RFPs for design were issued, bids will be reviewed the coming Friday, and design work could take one to two months. Staff said final project costs and financing had not been determined yet and that the board would likely see a funding request in spring; no financing decision was made at the meeting.
The board approved a motion (Supervisor Ramden, second Supervisor Kinnard) to set the May meeting for May 20 at 6 p.m. A motion to adjourn (Supervisor Baker, second Supervisor Gillitt) carried and the meeting ended.
