Lewis County approves Bunker Creek Road rehabilitation; grinding in May, paving by June

The Lewis County Board of Commissioners approved a set of resolutions authorizing rehabilitation work on Bunker Creek Road through the Adena area, County Engineer Jeff Soderquist told the board on Feb. 11.
"We're rehabilitating Bunker Creek Road through the heart of Adena there from, roughly Schoolhouse Road all the way to the trail," Soderquist said, explaining the project will combine work by county maintenance crews with contracted paving, grinding and cement treatment.
Soderquist said the county anticipates beginning grinding and cement mixing in May, with paving to follow in June. He estimated the initial grinding, cement mixing and reshaping will take about four days and the paving about four days. "Traffic will be maintained through the whole thing," he said, but added it "will be slightly difficult for a bit." Soderquist told commissioners the May and June timing reflects maintenance crew availability before crews shift into summer operations.
Commissioners asked whether local businesses had been contacted. Soderquist said county staff will communicate with affected businesses, including Edna Floral, as firm start dates are set and contractors are engaged.
The resolutions related to the project (25-042, 25-043 and 25-044) were approved as part of the board's deliberation items and recorded as passed by a 3-0 vote in the Feb. 11 meeting.
