BZA postpones three cases to March and April for additional review and agency coordination

Summary
The Board postponed three hearings — applications 19887A, 21226 and 21176 — to allow applicants to complete public-space reviews, receive Office of Planning reports, or obtain HPRB comments. New hearing dates include March 19 and April 9.
The Board of Zoning Adjustment on Feb. 12 postponed three cases to give applicants time to complete required agency reviews and to allow the Office of Planning to file reports.
Marjorie Hutchinson (application 19887A) requested a postponement to complete public-space approvals and obtain Historic Preservation Review Board (HPRB) input. The board agreed to postpone that modification-with-hearing case to April 9; the applicant said this would be the fourth postponement for that matter and that public-space review was scheduled for the 27th of the month.
Application 21226 (Alexander Benens LLC, 1206 Staples Street NE) was continued because the Office of Planning report was not yet in the record. OP said it could finalize a report in roughly two weeks; the board set the next hearing date for March 19 and asked the applicant to coordinate with OP. Angela Nicholas, initially requesting party status, told the board she had reached an agreement with the applicant and would withdraw her party status and file a short notice to that effect.
Application 21176 (Natalia Banulasco Bogdan) was similarly postponed while the applicant awaits a public-space committee decision (scheduled Feb. 27) and while OP prepares its report; the board placed that case on the March 19 docket as well.
In each matter the board indicated it wants the Office of Planning report filed in the record before returning and directed staff to reschedule the cases on the specified dates.
