The Board of Zoning Adjustment unanimously approved application 21248 on Feb. 12 to permit a one-story accessory building in the rear yard of a detached dwelling at 3017 Sixteenth Street NE.
Chairman Fred Hill said the record supported expedited review; board members agreed the small accessory building met the standards regarding light, air and privacy. The Office of Planning recommended approval. The board recorded a 5–0–0 vote after the chair moved to approve and Vice Chair Lorna John seconded.
Commissioners praised the applicant for timely submitting ANC outreach documentation and for addressing neighbor notification. The decision authorizes relief from Subtitle D §5004.1(a) (accessory building location requirements) and was recorded as application 21248 in the Board’s docket. Staff will prepare the final order and incorporate any standard conditions.
