Victorville planning commission reviews 2024 approvals; staff to provide annual project summary going forward

Planning staff presented to the Victorville City Planning Commission on Feb. 12 a compiled list of projects the commission approved in 2024 and said the city will provide an annual summary within the first three months of each year going forward.
Staff told commissioners the 2024 approvals totaled more than 320,000 square feet of commercial space, more than 1,300,000 square feet of industrial area, and more than 1,400 residential units. Staff also highlighted a significant code amendment addressing the deemed-approved ordinance and regulations governing the sale of alcohol and tobacco within the city.
Commissioners thanked staff for the summary and noted interest in additional follow-up data. Commissioner Thomas and Vice Chair Messon praised visible street repairs across the city. Commissioner Marshall asked about follow-up reporting on the city’s street vending program and whether a comparative report on licensing and enforcement was scheduled; staff said they would review the records and return with data and an updated map if available. No formal action was taken on the item; it was received for review.
