The Elbert County Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of a rezoning request for a 79.72-acre parcel known as Bighorn Ridge, staff said during a public hearing.
Kelsey Lanham, of the Elbert County Planning Department, told commissioners the request (case RZ-2023-0316) would change the property at 316 Ponderosa Lane in Elizabeth from agricultural to agricultural residential to allow future subdivision. The applicant, Grace Erickson of Providence Consulting, representing owner Gary Hanson, said the owner intends to create up to seven lots for family use and does not plan to sell those lots.
The staff report said referral agencies including the Division of Water Resources, Elbert County Public Works and Elizabeth Fire District reviewed the application; staff reported no outstanding referral comments and recommended approval with conditions. Staff listed three conditions:…
