Board authorizes executive sessions on potential Arbor House acquisition and union bargaining

The Boulder County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 4 authorized two executive sessions to receive legal advice on separate matters scheduled for Feb. 5.
Natalie Springett, speaking for the record, requested authorization for an executive session under Colorado’s Open Meetings Act for real-property legal advice concerning the potential acquisition of Arbor House at 2043 Pearl Street. The session was noticed for Feb. 5 at 12:00 p.m. with County Attorney Ben Pearlman, pursuant to CRS 24-6-402(4)(a).
Springett also requested a second executive session at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 5 for legal advice related to Boulder County Employees Union collective bargaining pursuant to CRS 24-6-402(4)(b). Both motions were moved, seconded and approved.
The board recorded the authorizations in the meeting minutes and stated that the executive sessions would include the county attorney. After the brief recess the board confirmed for the record that the executive session was limited to legal advice as noticed.
