Committee reports multiple bills and resolutions to the full Senate; one bill held pending

On Thursday the Senate Committee on Criminal Justice recorded roll-call votes on several measures, reporting most to the full Senate with favorable recommendations and placing one technical bill pending.

Senator Huffman moved the committee substitute for Senate Bill 9 be reported to the full Senate with the recommendation that it pass favorably; the clerk recorded six ayes and no nays. The committee then took up a technical measure identified as Senate Bill 407 and agreed at the mover’s request to leave it pending. The committee later voted to report Senate Bill 40 to the full Senate with six ayes and no nays.

After testimony on two joint resolutions, the committee reported Committee Substitute for Senate Joint Resolution 1 and Senate Joint Resolution 5 to the full Senate with favorable recommendations; both votes were recorded as six ayes and no nays. At the close of the meeting, Senator Parker moved that the committee stand in recess subject to the call of the chair.
