Senate subcommittee advances Department of Revenue lottery omnibus with security language change

Senator Kelker told the subcommittee the measure is a Department of Revenue lottery omnibus and a housekeeping package following reorganization: “This is, a Department of Revenue, lottery omnibus bill. It's, to be honest, kind of a cleanup from our reorganization.”
Kelker said Amendment 190 was added after subcommittee review to address concerns about lottery security and fraud and to preserve public options for oversight. “It may look like we're, you know, not recording requirement to ensure the department isn't covering something up. So we changed some language in the amendment, made a shell to make sure that that's still available and an option to the public,” Kelker said.
The amendment was moved and approved by voice vote. The bill as amended then was advanced to the calendar under rule 40 by voice vote.
