Lebanon Police report 724 calls since last meeting; 22 arrests, training updates reported

Lebanon Police Chief Morgan told the Board of Works on Feb. 10, 2011 that the department responded to 724 calls for service since the last meeting and made 22 arrests for a range of offenses, including operating while intoxicated and domestic battery.
Chief Morgan provided a breakdown of arrests: four for operating while intoxicated, five for warrants, four for domestic battery, one for possession of methamphetamine, one for possession of cocaine, three for driving while suspended, one for disorderly conduct, one for criminal trespass, one for possession of child pornography (as recorded), and one for resisting law enforcement. The department also took 14 crash reports during that period.
On training, Chief Morgan said Officer Caleb McCloskey attended an advanced roadside impaired driving enforcement course designed to help officers spot signs of impairment from drugs or alcohol and to build on standardized field sobriety testing. "This course helps law enforcement officers learn how to spot signs of impairment from drugs, alcohol, or both," Chief Morgan said. He also reported that Detective Tyler Winings completed an advanced undercover technique and survival class in Loveland, Colorado, Feb. 3–7; Chief Morgan said the drug task force paid all expenses for that training except meals.
Chief Morgan closed his remarks by noting the department's recent activity and the training investments to improve patrol and investigative capabilities.
