Board OKs Main Street closure for Oaks on Main crane lift; approves payment of claims

The Lebanon City Board of Works on Feb. 10 approved a full-block closure of West Main Street on Sunday morning, Feb. 23, from 8 a.m. to noon to allow a crane to lift HVAC equipment onto the roof of Oaks on Main, and later approved the payment of city claims by voice vote.

Engineering staff said the closure window is a safety measure and that crews expect to use less time than the four-hour window. "They will not need 4 hours to do this, but we generally like to block off a window, to make sure that they've got time," Engineering Department staff member Kevin said during the meeting.

The department said the work is part of a ready grant tied to the HVAC scope for Oaks on Main; the lift will place heat pumps on the roof. Officials said the project will close the full block of Main Street between Meridian and 11th Street for the short window to maintain public safety while the work is done.
