Committee recommends change orders and $536,806 pay request for Jackson Community Center expansion

The Budget and Finance Committee on Feb. 11 recommended approval of two change orders and a pay request for the Jackson Community Center expansion project.
Change order number 3 for Moore Construction, increasing the contract by $47,207, and change order number 4, increasing the contract by $45,146, were recommended for approval. Staff said the second change order mainly tweaked signage: credits were applied for redundant signage on one side of the building and the savings were redirected toward a higher-quality LED sign as an equipment swap; staff reported the project remains well within contingency after the changes. The two change orders together total $92,353.
The committee also recommended approval of pay request number 7 for Moore Construction Services in the amount of $536,806.05. The motion to recommend approval of the change orders and the pay request passed by voice vote.
All items will go to the Village Board for final action and incorporation into the project’s financial tracking and contingency accounting.
