The Village of Jackson Budget and Finance Committee on Feb. 11 recommended several approvals related to wastewater and water operations, including pay requests, a loan draw from the Clean Water Fund and an asset-management program.
Pay request number 10 for the wastewater treatment plant tertiary filters and disinfection project, submitted by JH Hassinger, was recommended for approval in the amount of $487,350. The committee approved the recommendation by voice vote.
The committee also recommended approval of Clean Water Fund loan request number 8 for the 2024 Wastewater Treatment Plant project in the amount of $500,449.45. A committee member asked whether there is a cap on the loan program for the project; municipal staff responded that the project cap is approximately $5,400,000 and that a forthcoming Board of Public Works change order will show the project’s overall status.
The committee recommended approval of an asset-management program proposal from USG Water Solutions; the motion passed by voice vote.
Separately, the committee recommended approval of a $236,909 quote for an emergency generator at the wastewater treatment plant.
The committee also recommended approval of a sewer and water account write-off of $450.97 as uncollectible; that item came from the Board of Public Works with a recommendation to approve.
All of the above recommendations were made by committee motion and passed by voice vote; they will proceed to the Village Board for final action or inclusion in project accounting and loan draw documentation.
