The board reviewed Superintendent Fowdy’s year‑end performance based on an external evaluation conducted by Max McGee of HYA Search and internal survey work. The review included interviews of trustees and direct reports and surveys of the district leadership team, all staff and community partners, the board reported.
Chair Stone told trustees the review materials and survey results informed the board’s assessment and that reviewers noted Fowdy had overseen more successful initiatives in the previous year than a typical three‑year expectation. The board proposed two contract changes: returning to a rolling contract model (to be reviewed annually) and changing the superintendent’s annual salary increase from the prior 5% to 3% to align with step increases used in the staff salary schedule.
Trustees praised the superintendent’s work during the public segment of the meeting and thanked staff and stakeholders who participated in the review. The proposed contract modifications will be brought to the action agenda at the next meeting for formal approval.
