Crosby High addition, CTE labs and stadium turf near completion, contractor reports

Robert Arsenault, a representative with LAN, updated the board on two active construction projects: the Crosby High School addition (classroom wing, CTE wing and large-group instruction space) and the Cougar Stadium turf and track replacement.
Arsenault said the classroom addition exterior is nearing being dried in, with waterproofing installed and exterior brick and panel channels in progress. On the interior he reported first-floor mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) in-wall rough-ins have passed inspection and most HVAC systems above the ceiling are in place; he said ceiling grid installation is scheduled to begin on the first floor the following week.
On the second floor Arsenault said in-wall MEP rough-ins were still being completed and that finishes would follow in three to four weeks. He explained the LGI (large-group instruction) spaces had been taped, floated and primed and that the air handler — on-site but awaiting a shutdown to set and connect — must be installed before certain finishes can proceed because conditioned space is required for those materials.
Arsenault said the CTE building will include dedicated ventilation and exhaust for welding booths and for carpentry equipment. He told the board each welding booth will have its own exhaust to pull fumes out and that additional down-exhausts were provided above work areas so portable equipment (for example plasma cutters) could be used while removing fumes.
On Cougar Stadium Arsenault said phases one and two were complete and the contractor was working through punch-list items; striping, lettering and track numbering were in place and closeout was expected within two to three weeks. He invited trustees to schedule a site walk with standard PPE (closed-toe shoes, hard hats) and said the turf and track work was substantially complete.
Board members asked technical follow-up questions about the flexibility of welding exhaust ducts and about scheduling a site walkthrough; Arsenault said he would confirm solid-versus-flex details and coordinate a walkthrough schedule.
