Hardin County Commissioners Court voted Feb. 11 to rescind a prior authorization to solicit formal bids for emergency disaster debris removal and debris monitoring and instead authorized the purchasing agent to solicit proposals to allow evaluation on factors beyond price.
The court appointed an evaluation committee to review proposals and make a recommendation to the court. The committee named on the record comprises Aaron Tepper, Clay Woodward and Commissioner Young. County staff said the proposals approach allows non-price factors to be weighed when selecting disaster debris removal and monitoring services.
Commissioners approved the change by voice vote and directed staff to include the appointed committee in the solicitation process.
