Court materials and the sheriff's office indicated the dollar figure covers the fully equipped vehicles except for police radios, and includes an approximately $300 BuyBoard administrative fee. The sheriff noted the grant rules require associated equipment, such as in-car camera systems, to be purchased at the time the vehicle is bought and permanently affixed; he said in-car camera systems can cost about $8,150 each per the discussion.
Commissioners approved the purchase by voice vote; they said the funding source for the purchase is grant funding, and that the specification reflects fully equipped law-enforcement apparatus.
