Temple ISD board accepts superintendent's annual appraisal and approves contract extension

"His unwavering commitment to transparency and accessibility has deepened community trust," the written comments said as read aloud to the board.
Mr. Gaines moved to approve the superintendent's contract extension; Ms. Gallon seconded the motion. The chair called for the ayes and the motion passed on a voice vote. The public transcript recorded no roll-call tally.
After the vote, a district administrator identified in the transcript as Dr. Wright spoke to thank the board and praise the district leadership team. "That's a lot of stuff," Dr. Wright said, adding thanks to staff and principals and noting room for continued improvement.
The appraisal materials (provided to trustees) included individual board member comments and covered community engagement, financial stewardship, facilities planning, behavior and attendance trends, human resources and communications. The board recommended extending the superintendent's contract based on the aggregated evaluation and the materials presented in open session.
