Staff said the direction from a majority of commissioners was to pause confirmation, not to deny it; staff will notify Timberland Regional Library and Mason County that Thurston County is pausing its confirmation until the commissioners are satisfied with the information available. Commissioners characterized the direction as unanimous at the Feb. 11 agenda-setting session.
The pause means the nominee will not assume the TRL trusteeship until Thurston County lifts the hold; other counties and TRL may proceed according to their processes, but all member-county confirmations are required for the appointment to take effect in the TRL governance structure.
