Plainview ISD used its February board meeting to highlight Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, recognize student award winners and hear students describe how CTE coursework and certifications have prepared them for work and college.
CTE programs and student organizations were the focus of a presentation that outlined pathways in business, agriculture, manufacturing, health sciences and public service. A district CTE representative described the program structure: students follow a program of study through level 1–4 courses, can earn industry certifications and, in some cases, receive dual credit or weighted transcripts for advanced CTE classes.
