The Board of Commissioners on Feb. 10 approved a conditional rezoning for a roughly 1-acre portion of an 80-acre family farm in the Abbotts Creek area, allowing a small dealer office and limited vehicle sales.
Applicant James Lewis told the board the office is primarily to serve his wife’s modest, online used-car business; he said the business currently rents an off-site office and wants a small on-site 10-by-10 office to meet North Carolina dealer-license requirements. Lewis said vehicle turnover will be small and the site will not function as a conventional used-car lot.
