“We'll be working directly with Granite Construction for about an interim, approximately a month,” Pearson said. Staff said the new interim agreement and budget amendment will allow debris removal to continue while a competitive procurement is prepared. The consent‑calendar motion that included the Granite contract and the budget adjustment passed as part of the broader consent package on a 7–0 roll‑call vote.
Councilmember Bruner had asked for clarification before the consent motion; staff explained the $400,000 item was added to the packet after its initial publication so it was being highlighted for council review. The city will report back to council if additional funding or time is required.
