Los Banos council approves resolution appointing Gary M. Breezy Jr. interim city manager

Los Banos — The Los Banos City Council voted Feb. 10 to approve City Council Resolution No. 6874 appointing Gary M. Breezy Jr. as interim city manager, the council announced at an adjourned meeting called to order Feb. 10, 2025.

The appointment took effect the same day. Council members moved and seconded the resolution and approved it by voice vote; the council recorded no public comments on the appointment during the meeting.

According to the agreement presented to the council, the term begins Feb. 10 and continues until either party ends it or until limits applicable to retired employees are reached in a fiscal year. Council members noted the fiscal year begins July 1. The agreement was available for council review during the meeting; specific hourly compensation and other employment-agreement details were included in the written agreement provided to council but were not read aloud in full during the meeting.

Mayor thanked Breezy for accepting the temporary assignment, saying, “thank you for coming to our aid at this very crucial time in our City we appreciate you and your willingness to do the job and I know we all know you're going to do an excellent job for the City.”

The council conducted a brief roll call earlier in the meeting that recorded Councilmembers Sanders, Chavez, Lewis and Amabile as present. After the motion and second to approve Resolution No. 6874, the presiding officer called for a voice vote. The council indicated ayes and the presiding officer declared the resolution approved.

The council adjourned the meeting immediately after the action.
