- Approved security camera and access upgrades at the North Fire Station: Council waived sealed bidding and awarded Griffin Systems the project to install cameras, a DVR system and upgrade door access for $34,530. Motion by Leija, second by Weiwei; roll-call vote recorded seven ayes.
- Adopted resolution to acquire 6804 West Windsor Avenue: Motion by Scott Lennon, second by Roy Wood; roll-call vote 6 ayes, 1 no. (See separate article for details.)
- Accepted multiple communications as informational: including the Commercial Corridor Renovation Grant (CCRG) recognition awards and the 2024 finish-line grant recipients; motions to accept were made by members of council and passed by voice vote.
- Authorized release of an RFP for landscape maintenance and watering for the 2025 growing season covering commercial corridors, Roosevelt Road, Cermak Road, Depot District and Ogden Avenue; motion passed by voice vote.
- Approved the 2025 Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) street resurfacing program: Council approved a resurfacing program prepared by Novotny Engineering and staff with a project total of approximately $2,500,000. Motion by Ravey, second by Arinella; voice vote in the affirmative.
- Declared multiple Berwyn Police Department Toughbook computers surplus property: Accepted as informational, motion passed by voice vote.
Procedure and next steps
Most items involving contract awards were accompanied by staff requests to waive the sealed-bid process because the contracts were awarded through cooperative procurement or Sourcewell, or because staff recommended concurrence with a sole-source justification. For each approved project staff will complete contract paperwork and proceed with procurement or implementation as directed.
