Board approves personnel, construction and playground contracts; MASB vote selected

Construction and contracts
- The board approved a contract with Complete Interactive Technologies Incorporated for $292,916.42 with an additional 10% construction contingency of $29,292 for work tied to the district’s new junior high building.
- Trustees approved change orders for Metro Electric (bulletin no. 4) in the amount of $71,728 and additional helical pier foundation work for JJ Barney in the amount of $50,372; both amendments were described as related to new junior high construction.
Playground upgrades
The board approved a recommendation to purchase playground equipment from Fun Incorporated for $103,000 and concrete sidewalks from Alvinelli for $39,800, and to carry a contingency/allowance of $96,780, for a total recommendation of $239,580. District staff said the playground work is largely funded by GSRP startup grants that must be spent by June 30; the contingency covers removal, disposal, mulch and fence work yet to be contracted.
Votes and procedures
Motion movers and seconders were recorded as “made and supported” in the meeting; votes were taken by voice and each motion was declared carried. No roll-call tallies were read into the record for these items.

Staff will proceed with contract administration and procurement consistent with the approved contingencies and will return to the board if additional authorization is required.
