District seeks board approval soon to buy 4,575 Chromebooks for student refresh; special meeting requested

At the conclusion of the technology presentation, a vendor representative had raised concerns about recent tariff changes that could materially affect prices. Based on that timeline risk, a board member asked the superintendent to consider scheduling a short special board meeting later that week so the board can vote on award and avoid imminent price increases.
No contract awards were authorized at the Feb. 10 work session; staff asked trustees to expect a special meeting and to be prepared to act quickly to lock in pricing.
